First Lady: Elder Monica L. Calhoun
Monica L. Calhoun (Ervin) is an anointed Woman of God, the wife of Pastor Marcus L. Calhoun, Senior Pastor and Founder of Impact Worship Center, Inc. and the mother of 7 phenomenal children. She is an ordained Elder who has been teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ for over 20 years; however, she did not accept her call to pulpit ministry until September 2016. She was later licensed in November 2017 after completing a year and half class of mentorship, instruction, correction and guidance and then elevated to the office of Elder in March 2019.
As First Lady, she wears many hats but her heart has always been for the women and youth of the church. Born in Wichita, KS to Reverend Charles and Minister Marzella Ervin, she is what you would call a church baby. Her mother and father have always served in ministry and as a result she and her siblings all had to assist in ministry in some shape or fashion. She has held the positions of Youth Director, Praise & Worship Leader, Women’s Ministry Director and served in several other auxiliaries while under her father’s pastoral leadership at New Birth Christian Church, Wichita, KS and the leadership of Pastor DeAndre’ Morris Sr. at Kingdom Harvest Church, Wichita, KS.
She holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with an emphasis in Management from Wichita State University and a Master of Science in Management Degree from Friends University which assist with her strong leadership skills and aptitude for administration. She is an effective communicator and lover of the Word of God. She is best known for telling people, “Baby you have to get some Word in you because that is what is going to hold you.”
While passionate about ministry and seeing souls saved, her pride and joys are her husband and children. Pastor Marcus and Lady Monica married in May 2015 and together enjoy their 7, oh yes 7 (6 young men and 1 young lady), children in their beautifully blended family. They reside in Wichita, KS where she mentors, encourages, and serves as a prayer warrior to many.
Philipians 1:4-6, “In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
